knit blanket for little guy

I've been dreaming of making a knit baby blanket for the baby since we found out I was pregnant. I knew I wanted the colors of the nursery but that was it. When I found out it was a boy I knew the colors I was going to use but I didn't know a pattern. I'm not as comfortable at knitting as I am crocheting so I the blanket was going to have to be easy. I found this Super Easy Baby Blanket fromThe Purl Bee and knew it was a good starter blanket.

I made mine a little bigger than the tutorial. I wanted to be able to wrap him in the blanket and let it grow with him. I used size 8 knitting circular needles and cast on 120 stitches. I used left over yarn from other project but it was all bought from Hobby Lobby. The finished size is about 35x55.

The whole thing is knit in the garter stitch so it was an easy beginner blanket. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube if you want to learn. It's super soft and cushion-y. Breena has been obsessed with laying on it for now.

Between this blanket, the next knit winter blanket I'm working on I think he is set on blankets but next is a quilt or two for him.
